✔On-Time Delivery Aspects
Customers often ask us how to break down on-time delivery into its components to better understand the factors influencing it and to develop an effective improvement plan.

In previous posts, we outlined an approach to managing on-time delivery. In this post, we will focus on breaking down on-time delivery into its various components for better visibility and analysis.

✔ Manufacturing Lot On-Time Delivery (OTD)
✔ Sample OTD
✔ Test and Review OTD

We will start with the ultimate goal: delivering the manufacturing lot by the desired due date. However, a single manufacturing lot may consist of multiple samples, and each sample may involve multiple tests.

The smallest component in this process is the individual test. It is crucial to track whether each test is completed on time, as a delay in any test can impact the sample’s due date. For tests that require a review, on-time review becomes another critical component. If all tests and their applicable reviews are completed on time, the sample should be released on time unless it is held due to an Out-of-Specification (OOS) result or other delays.
If all samples are released or authorized on time, the manufacturing lot will also be delivered on time.

This hierarchical breakdown is essential for identifying the root cause of any on-time delivery failure. Is the delay due to a specific test? Is it caused by a bottleneck in the review process? Or is it due to mismanagement of the tasks involved in the release process? By analyzing each component, we can pinpoint the exact issue and implement targeted improvements.
