We had our first webinar of 2025, and the focus was equipment; As the labs are a critical component of any drug manufacturing and can have a major impact on the overall manufacturing cost, we are seeing key focus on increase Efficiency for both staff and Equipment
We covered how to leverage Smart-QC Equipment Module auto reserve toward improved visibility and overall efficiency. The set of APIs offered by Smart-QC allows smooth integration with CMMS and provides visibility into the upcoming PM, Calibration and CM to avoid conflict with the lab’s schedule.
Some of the master data provides the ability to further categorize the equipment to then better report on overall performance and usage.
With more visibility / control of Equipment usage, the goal is to achieve the following:
- Reduce overcapacity that resulted in PM and Calibration of Equipment that is not highly utilized
- Consuming lab space by low utilized Equipment
- Reduce spending on Equipment that is not critical for the overall lab’s operations
